Indication

Oxymetazoline HCl 0.05% nasal spray is a topical decongestant used for the symptomatic relief of nasal congestion caused by the common cold, sinusitis, hay fever, and other upper respiratory allergies.

Direction

Adults and children 6 years and over: 2–3 sprays in each nostril twice daily (morning and evening). Do not use for more than 3 consecutive days to avoid rebound congestion.

Side effects

• Transient burning or stinging in the nose.
• Nasal dryness or irritation.
• Headache
• palpitations with excessive use.
• Rebound nasal congestion with prolonged use.

Precautions

• Do not use for more than 3 consecutive days.
• Use with caution in patients with hypertension
• hyperthyroidism
• cardiovascular disease
• or narrow
• angle glaucoma.
• Avoid concurrent use with MAO inhibitors.
• Not recommended in children under 6 years without medical advice.
• Keep out of reach of children.
