Vitamin C Injection 500mg/5ml

Indication

Ascorbic acid injection 500 mg/5 mL is used for treatment and prevention of Vitamin C deficiency (scurvy), adjunctive support in wound healing, and parenteral Vitamin C supplementation when oral intake is not possible.

• Rare: haemolysis in G6PD

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with a history of kidney stones (oxalate nephrolithiasis) or G6PD deficiency.
• Large doses may cause haemolysis in G6PD
• deficient patients.
• May interfere with glucose and other laboratory tests at high doses.
• Check for incompatibilities before mixing with other injectable drugs.
• Keep out of reach of children.
