Indication

Loratadine 1 mg/mL oral solution is a second-generation, non-sedating antihistamine used for the relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis (hay fever), urticaria (hives), and other allergic conditions in adults and children.

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years (body weight >30 kg): 10 mL once daily. Children 2–12 years (body weight >30 kg): 10 mL once daily; (body weight ≤30 kg): 5 mL once daily. Administer with or without food.

Side effects

• Headache
• somnolence (uncommon at therapeutic doses).
• Dry mouth.
• Fatigue
• nervousness (rare).
• Rare: allergic reactions including rash.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
• Generally non
• sedating but may cause drowsiness in some individuals — caution with driving.
• Avoid in patients with known hypersensitivity to loratadine.
• Keep out of reach of children.
