Montiget Pediatric Granules 4mg

Indication

Montiget Pediatric Granules 4 mg (Montelukast Sodium) is a leukotriene receptor antagonist used for the long-term prophylaxis and treatment of asthma in children 2–5 years of age, and for the relief of symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis in children 2 years and over.

Ingredients

Direction

Children 2–5 years: one 4 mg sachet of granules once daily in the evening. The granules may be mixed directly in a teaspoon of cold or room-temperature soft food or liquid and given immediately. Do not dissolve in liquid for later use.

Side effects

• Common: thirst
• abdominal pain
• headache.
• Uncommon: sleep disturbances
• irritability.
• Rare: serious neuropsychiatric events.

Precautions

• Not for acute bronchospasm
• use a rapid
• acting bronchodilator for acute attacks.
• Monitor for neuropsychiatric events (agitation
• aggression
• sleep disturbances
• hallucinations
• depression) — discontinue if these occur.
• Do not discontinue or reduce corticosteroid therapy without medical advice.
• Keep out of reach of children.
