Indication

Neo-Codion is a combination antitussive syrup containing Codeine, Sulfogaiacol (Potassium Guaiacolsulfonate), and Grindelia extract used for symptomatic relief of acute dry and irritating cough, including cough with mild bronchial congestion.

Ingredients

• Codeine
• Sulfogaiacol
• Grindelia

Direction

Adults: 1–2 tablets or 5–10 mL syrup up to 3–4 times daily. Do not exceed the maximum recommended dose. Not for children under 15 years without physician supervision.

Side effects

• Common: constipation
• nausea
• drowsiness.
• Uncommon: dizziness
• dry mouth.
• Rare: respiratory depression
• dependence.

Precautions

• Contains codeine (opioid)
• risk of dependence with prolonged use.
• Contraindicated in children under 12 years
• use with extreme caution in children under 15 years.
• Do not combine with other CNS depressants or alcohol.
• Avoid in patients with respiratory depression
• asthma
• or COPD.
• CYP2D6 ultra
• rapid metabolisers are at increased risk of codeine toxicity.
• Keep out of reach of children.
