Indication

Invel Forte L (Metronidazole + Miconazole Nitrate + Lidocaine) is a combination preparation used topically or vaginally to treat mixed bacterial and fungal infections, particularly vaginal infections with anaerobic bacteria (bacterial vaginosis), fungal infections (candidiasis), and associated discomfort.

Ingredients

• Metronidazole
• Miconazole Nitrate
• Lidocaine

Direction

Apply or insert as directed by a physician, typically once or twice daily for the prescribed duration. For vaginal use: insert one applicatorful or pessary at bedtime. For topical use: apply a thin layer to the affected area. Follow prescriber instructions.

Side effects

• Common: local burning
• stinging
• or itching at application site.
• Uncommon: nausea
• metallic taste (from systemic absorption of metronidazole).
• Rare: allergic reactions
• peripheral neuropathy with prolonged use.

Precautions

• Avoid alcohol during metronidazole
• containing treatment (disulfiram
• like reaction).
• Not for use in the first trimester of pregnancy without medical advice.
• Avoid contact with eyes.
• Do not use concomitantly with anticoagulants (warfarin) without monitoring — metronidazole may enhance anticoagulant effect.
• Keep out of reach of children.
