Telmiswiss 80 80mg

Indication

Treatment of essential hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults. Also used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events (such as heart attack and stroke) in adults at high cardiovascular risk who are unable to take ACE inhibitors.

Direction

Adults: The usual starting dose is 40 mg once daily. The dose may be titrated up to 80 mg once daily if blood pressure is not adequately controlled. May be taken with or without food.

• Headache
• Hypotension
• Hyperkalemia
• Renal impairment
• Upper respiratory tract infection
• Back pain
• Diarrhea

Precautions

• Contraindicated in pregnancy (second and third trimesters) — can cause fetal harm.
• Contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment or biliary obstruction.
• Do not use concurrently with aliskiren in patients with diabetes or renal impairment.
• Monitor renal function and electrolytes
• especially in patients with renal impairment.
• Risk of hypotension
• especially in volume
• depleted patients.
• May cause hyperkalemia
• caution with potassium
• sparing diuretics or potassium supplements.
• Use with caution in patients with heart failure.
