Dolfenal 500mg

Indication

Relief of mild to moderate pain including primary dysmenorrhoea (menstrual pain), dental pain, headache, and musculoskeletal pain. Also used to reduce fever.

Ingredients

• Mefenamic Acid

Direction

Adults and children over 14 years: 500 mg three times daily after meals. Maximum duration of use is generally 7 days for pain. For dysmenorrhoea, treatment may begin at the onset of pain.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• and dyspepsia
• Abdominal pain
• Diarrhoea
• Gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration
• Headache and dizziness
• Rash and hypersensitivity reactions
• Fluid retention
• Renal impairment with prolonged use

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding.
• Contraindicated in severe renal or hepatic impairment.
• Avoid in the third trimester of pregnancy.
• Not for use in patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
• Use with caution in patients with asthma — may trigger bronchospasm.
• Avoid concurrent use with other NSAIDs or aspirin.
• May increase risk of cardiovascular events with long
• term use.
• Not recommended in children under 14 years.
• Keep out of reach of children.
