Stamlo 10 mg

Indication

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and stable angina pectoris. Also used in the treatment of vasospastic (Prinzmetal's) angina. Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine besilate

Direction

Adults: For hypertension and angina: 5–10 mg once daily. The usual starting dose is 5 mg once daily. May be increased to 10 mg once daily if needed. May be taken with or without food.

Side effects

• Peripheral oedema (ankle/foot swelling)
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Flushing
• Palpitations
• Fatigue
• Nausea
• Abdominal pain

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with severe aortic stenosis.
• May cause peripheral oedema (ankle swelling).
• Use with caution in patients with heart failure.
• May cause vasodilatory hypotension.
• Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
• Avoid abrupt withdrawal in angina patients.
• Keep out of reach of children.
