Indication
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and stable angina pectoris. Also used in the treatment of vasospastic (Prinzmetal's) angina.
Ingredients
- Amlodipine besilate
Direction
Adults: For hypertension and angina: usual starting dose is 5 mg once daily. May be taken with or without food.
Side effects
- Peripheral oedema (ankle/foot swelling)
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Flushing
- Palpitations
- Fatigue
- Nausea
Precautions
- Use with caution in patients with severe aortic stenosis.
- May cause peripheral oedema (ankle swelling).
- Use with caution in patients with heart failure.
- Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
- Avoid abrupt withdrawal in angina patients.
- Keep out of reach of children.
