Indication
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections including otitis media, sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, lower respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, bronchitis), urinary tract infections, and skin/soft tissue infections. Amoxicillin is a broad-spectrum aminopenicillin antibiotic.

Direction
Children: Usual dose is 25–45 mg/kg/day in divided doses every 8–12 hours. At 125 mg/5 mL: dose volume based on body weight per physician guidance. Reconstitute the dry powder with water to the indicated volume mark. Shake well before use. Complete the full prescribed course.
Side effects
- Diarrhoea
- Nausea and vomiting
- Skin rash
- Urticaria
- Hypersensitivity reactions (including anaphylaxis)
- Antibiotic
- associated colitis (rare)
Precautions
- Contraindicated in patients with known penicillin allergy.
- Use with caution in patients with cephalosporin allergy (cross
- reactivity possible).
- May cause non
- allergic rash in patients with mononucleosis — avoid use.
- Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve.
- May alter gut flora — risk of antibiotic
- associated diarrhoea.
- Discard unused reconstituted suspension after 7–14 days (check label).
- Keep out of reach of children.
