Highcolgen Forte 500 mg + 10 mg + 2 mg

Indication

Symptomatic relief of common cold and flu: fever, headache, nasal congestion, runny nose and allergic rhinitis.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol
• Phenylephrine HCl
• Chlorpheniramine maleate

Direction

Use as directed by physician.

Side effects

• Drowsiness
• sedation (chlorpheniramine).
• Dry mouth
• blurred vision
• urinary retention (anticholinergic effects).
• Nausea
• stomach upset.
• Palpitations
• elevated blood pressure (phenylephrine).
• Headache.
• Insomnia.
• Hepatotoxicity with paracetamol overdose.

Precautions

• Avoid use in patients with severe hypertension or cardiovascular disease (phenylephrine is a sympathomimetic).
• Use with caution in patients with hyperthyroidism
• diabetes
• glaucoma
• or urinary retention.
• Avoid concurrent use with MAO inhibitors — risk of hypertensive crisis.
• Paracetamol component: do not exceed recommended dose
• avoid in hepatic impairment or with alcohol use.
• Chlorpheniramine causes sedation — avoid driving or operating machinery.
• Use with caution in elderly patients.
• Not recommended in children under 6 years without medical advice.
