Indication
Potent antitussive and expectorant. Cough and sputum.
Ingredients
- Dihydrocodeine bitartrate 5 mg
- Guaifenesin 50 mg
- DL
- Methylephedrine HCl 17.5 mg
- Chlorpheniramine maleate 1.5 mg
Direction
Adults: 2 tablets orally, 3 times a day. Children 8-11 years: 1 tablet 3 times a day. Children 11-15 years: 1-2 tablets 3 times a day.
Side effects
- Sedation and drowsiness (antihistamine effect).
- Dizziness.
- Dry mouth.
- Nausea and gastrointestinal discomfort.
- Constipation (due to dihydrocodeine).
- Palpitations and increased heart rate (due to methylephedrine).
- Insomnia or restlessness (due to methylephedrine).
- Urinary retention.
- Risk of dependence with prolonged codeine/dihydrocodeine use.
