Indication
Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus as a combination of glimepiride and metformin hydrochloride when diet, exercise, and monotherapy do not provide adequate glycaemic control.
Ingredients
- Glimepiride
- Metformin HCl
Direction
As directed by the physician or see package insert for full prescribing information.
Side effects
- Hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar)
- especially if meals are skipped.
- Nausea
- vomiting
- and diarrhoea (metformin
- related
- often transient).
- Metallic taste in the mouth.
- Abdominal discomfort.
- Weight gain (glimepiride).
- Lactic acidosis (rare but serious
- associated with metformin β risk increased in renal impairment).
- Allergic skin reactions.
- Elevated liver enzymes (rare).
Precautions
- Store below 30 C.
- Protect from sunlight and moisture.
- Keep out of reach of children.
