Paracetamol EPHAC 100 mg

Indication

Used to reduce fever and relieve mild to moderate pain in infants and young children, including teething pain, pain following vaccination, and fever associated with colds.

• Paracetamol

Direction

Dose based on body weight: typically 10–15 mg/kg per dose every 4–6 hours as needed; maximum 4 doses in 24 hours. Each 100 mg tablet may be dissolved or swallowed; consult a doctor or pharmacist for precise paediatric dosing.

Side effects

• Rare at therapeutic doses: skin rash or allergic reaction.
• Hepatotoxicity (liver damage) in overdose.
• Very rarely: serious skin reactions.

Precautions

• Do not exceed recommended dose.
• Do not use concurrently with other paracetamol
• containing products.
• Avoid in children with severe liver disease.
• Consult a doctor before use in children with kidney impairment.
• Seek medical advice if fever persists beyond 48 hours or pain beyond 3 days.
• Keep out of reach of children.
