Indication
Treatment of hyperuricemia and its clinical complications (gout, uric acid nephropathy)
Ingredients
- Allopurinol
Direction
Swallow the tablets whole with a large glass of water after meals
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting
- and diarrhoea.
- Skin rash or allergic reactions.
- Headache and dizziness.
- Somnolence.
- Elevated liver enzymes (monitor in long
- term use).
- Haematological effects: agranulocytosis
- aplastic anaemia (rare but serious — monitor blood counts).
- Renal impairment with long
- term high
- dose use.
- Rare: serious hypersensitivity reactions.
Precautions
- Keep out of reach of children
- read the leaflet before use
