Indication

Treatment of hyperuricemia and its clinical complications (gout, uric acid nephropathy)

Ingredients

• Allopurinol

Direction

Swallow the tablets whole with a large glass of water after meals

Side effects

• Skin rash or hypersensitivity reactions (discontinue immediately)
• Nausea
• vomiting
• or diarrhoea
• Drowsiness or headache
• Elevated liver enzymes or hepatotoxicity (rare)
• Bone marrow suppression (rare — agranulocytosis
• thrombocytopenia)
• Stevens
• Johnson syndrome (rare but serious — discontinue if severe rash occurs)
