Bactrim 400 mg / 80 mg

Indication

Bactrim is a combination antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections including urinary tract infections, ear infections, bronchitis, traveler's diarrhea, and pneumocystis pneumonia. It works by inhibiting two consecutive steps in the biosynthesis of nucleic acids and proteins essential to many bacteria.

Ingredients

• Sulfamethoxazole
• Trimethoprim

Direction

Take as directed by your physician. Usually 1-2 tablets twice daily with plenty of water.

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Rash
• Photosensitivity
• Blood dyscrasias

Precautions

• Not for use in patients with sulfonamide hypersensitivity
• Avoid in severe renal or hepatic impairment
• Maintain adequate fluid intake
• Avoid in pregnant women near term and nursing mothers
