AUGMENT 400 mg / 57 mg per 5 ml (reconstituted)

Indication

AUGMENT is a broad-spectrum antibiotic combining amoxicillin and clavulanic acid used for the treatment of bacterial infections in pediatric patients including otitis media, sinusitis, lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and skin and soft tissue infections.

Ingredients

• Amoxicillin trihydrate BP (equivalent to Amoxicillin)
• Diluted Potassium Clavulanate BP (Clavulanic acid)

Direction

Reconstitute the powder with water up to the 100 ml mark. Shake well before each use. Dose according to the physician's prescription based on patient weight and indication. Complete the full prescribed course.

Side effects

• Diarrhea
• nausea
• vomiting
• Skin rash or urticaria
• Elevated liver enzymes (rare)
• Anaphylaxis (rare but serious)

Precautions

• Do not use in case of allergy to penicillin or cephalosporins
• Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment
• Keep out of reach of children
• Store reconstituted suspension in a refrigerator and discard after 7 days
• Use only on medical prescription
