Indication
An antifungal agent used for the treatment of systemic and superficial fungal infections including dermatophytosis, candidiasis, pityriasis versicolor, and other susceptible fungal infections.
Ingredients
- Ketoconazole 200 mg
Direction
Dosage as directed by physician. Take with food to minimize gastrointestinal side effects. Swallow whole with water.
Side effects
- May cause nausea
- vomiting
- abdominal pain
- headache
- pruritus
- and rash. Rare but serious hepatotoxicity has been reported. Hormonal effects at high doses.
Precautions
- Not for use in patients with liver disease or hypersensitivity to ketoconazole. Not recommended for the treatment of superficial skin infections
- ringworm
- or nail infections due to systemic absorption risks. Use under medical supervision. Keep out of reach of children.
