Cotrim 960 mg

Indication

Cotrim 960mg (co-trimoxazole forte) is a sulfonamide-trimethoprim combination antibiotic used to treat urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, gastrointestinal infections including typhoid fever, sigmoiditis, and Pneumocystis carinii infections.

Ingredients

• Sulfamethoxazole 800 mg
• Trimethoprim 160 mg

Direction

Take 2 tablets twice daily (morning and evening) with meals. Duration as prescribed by physician. Drink plenty of fluids during treatment.

Side effects

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Skin rash
• Photosensitivity
• Blood disorders (rare)

Precautions

• Avoid use in patients with sulfonamide allergy
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use in severe renal or hepatic impairment
• Maintain adequate fluid intake
• Store below 30°C away from light and humidity
