Indication
Cotrim 960mg (co-trimoxazole forte) is a sulfonamide-trimethoprim combination antibiotic used to treat urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, gastrointestinal infections including typhoid fever, sigmoiditis, and Pneumocystis carinii infections.
Ingredients
- Sulfamethoxazole 800 mg
- Trimethoprim 160 mg
Direction
Take 2 tablets twice daily (morning and evening) with meals. Duration as prescribed by physician. Drink plenty of fluids during treatment.
Side effects
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Skin rash
- Photosensitivity
- Blood disorders (rare)
Precautions
- Avoid use in patients with sulfonamide allergy
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use in severe renal or hepatic impairment
- Maintain adequate fluid intake
- Store below 30°C away from light and humidity
