Glucophage 1000 mg

Indication

A biguanide antidiabetic used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in overweight patients. Also used as first-line therapy when diet and exercise alone do not provide adequate glycemic control.

Ingredients

• Metformin Hydrochloride 1000 mg

Direction

Take with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. As directed by the physician. Oral use.

Side effects

• Gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea
• diarrhea
• abdominal pain)
• metallic taste. Lactic acidosis (rare but serious).

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with renal impairment
• hepatic impairment
• or conditions associated with hypoxia. Discontinue before procedures using iodinated contrast media. Keep out of reach of children.
