Indication
A broad-spectrum antibiotic combination used for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms including respiratory tract infections (sinusitis, otitis media, lower respiratory tract infections), urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections. The clavulanic acid component inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes, extending the spectrum of amoxicillin.
Ingredients
- Amoxicillin 250 mg
- Clavulanic Acid 62.5 mg
Direction
Dry powder for oral suspension. Preparation: Add water until half the bottle and shake well. Wait 5 minutes for homogeneous dispersion. Add water until the marked level and shake again. SHAKE WELL BEFORE EACH USE. The reconstituted suspension is stable for 7 days when refrigerated. Dosage as directed by physician.
Side effects
- May cause diarrhea
- nausea
- vomiting
- skin rash
- and urticaria. Serious allergic reactions including anaphylaxis have been reported rarely.
Precautions
- Use with caution in patients with penicillin hypersensitivity or history of allergic reactions. Monitor for signs of allergic reaction. Do not use if allergic to penicillins or cephalosporins. Store the reconstituted suspension in the refrigerator and use within 7 days.
