Indication
DIABETMIN Retard 850 mg slow release tablets are used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. The slow release formulation allows for once or twice daily dosing with improved gastrointestinal tolerability.
Ingredients
- Metformin HCl 850 mg (slow release)
Direction
Adults: As directed by a physician. Typically taken once or twice daily with meals. Swallow whole β do not crush or chew.
Side effects
- Gastrointestinal symptoms are generally less frequent than with immediate
- release formulations. Lactic acidosis is rare but serious.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in patients with renal impairment
- hepatic impairment
- metabolic acidosis
- and prior to iodinated contrast procedures. Swallow tablets whole
- do not crush or chew.
