Duphalac 667 mg/ml

Indication

Duphalac 667 mg/ml Lactulose Solution is indicated for the treatment of constipation and for the regulation of colonic physiological rhythm. It is also used when soft stool is of medical benefit (hemorrhoids, post-colonic/anal surgery) and for the treatment and prevention of hepatic encephalopathy (hepatic coma or pre-coma).

Direction

Adults and adolescents: starting dose 15-45 ml/day, maintenance 15-30 ml/day. Children (7-14 years): 15 ml/day starting, 10-15 ml maintenance. Children (1-6 years): 5-10 ml/day. Infants under 1 year: up to 5 ml/day.

Side effects

• Flatulence
• bloating
• abdominal discomfort. Diarrhea with high doses.

Precautions

• Keep out of reach of children. Use with caution in patients with galactose intolerance
• galactosemia
• or lactase deficiency.
