Indication

Symptomatic treatment of non-productive cough. Used in cases of troublesome, non-productive cough where no specific underlying activity has been demonstrated.

Ingredients

• Promethazine HCl 3.6 mg per 5 ml
• Codeine phosphate 9 mg per 5 ml

Direction

Side effects

• Drowsiness due to sedative effect
• Anticholinergic effects (dry mouth
• urinary retention)

Precautions

• Contraindicated in asthmatic cough
• Contraindicated in respiratory insufficiency of any degree
• Not recommended for children under 8 years
• Avoid codeine during the first trimester of pregnancy
• Avoid during breastfeeding
