Indication
Symptomatic treatment of non-productive cough. Used in cases of troublesome, non-productive cough where no specific underlying activity has been demonstrated.
Ingredients
- Promethazine HCl 3.6 mg per 5 ml
- Codeine phosphate 9 mg per 5 ml
Direction
Take as directed by physician. Read the leaflet before use.
Side effects
- Drowsiness due to sedative effect
- Anticholinergic effects (dry mouth
- urinary retention)
Precautions
- Contraindicated in asthmatic cough
- Contraindicated in respiratory insufficiency of any degree
- Not recommended for children under 8 years
- Avoid codeine during the first trimester of pregnancy
- Avoid during breastfeeding
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist if in doubt
