Lipiget 10 mg

Indication

Treatment of hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. Used to reduce elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides and to raise HDL cholesterol.

Ingredients

• Atorvastatin 10 mg (as atorvastatin calcium trihydrate)

Direction

As directed by the physician or see package insert for full prescribing information. Usually taken once daily with or without food.

Side effects

• Myalgia (muscle pain) or weakness
• Myopathy or rhabdomyolysis (rare but serious)
• Gastrointestinal upset: nausea
• diarrhoea
• constipation
• flatulence
• Headache
• Elevated liver enzymes (hepatotoxicity — rare)
• Insomnia
• Arthralgia (joint pain)
• Hyperglycaemia (slight increased risk of new
• onset diabetes)

Precautions

• Store below 30°C
• Protect from sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Inform physician of all medications being taken
