Indication
Indicated for amoebiasis (intestinal, asymptomatic, and hepatic), trichomoniasis, giardiasis, and certain anaerobic bacterial infections (Clostridium perfringens, Bacteroides fragilis).
Ingredients
- Metronidazole 250mg
Direction
Amoebiasis (adult): 1.5g/day divided in 3 doses. Giardiasis (adult): 750mg/day divided in 3 doses. Trichomoniasis (adult): 2g as a single dose. Children: 30-50mg/kg/day divided in 3 doses. Store below 30°C.
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting
- and metallic taste in mouth
- Abdominal cramps and diarrhoea
- Headache and dizziness
- Peripheral neuropathy with prolonged use
- Dark discolouration of urine (harmless)
- Disulfiram
- like reaction if alcohol is consumed
Precautions
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not exceed the prescribed dose
- Store below 30°C
