Indication
Yash-Zi 500 (Azithromycin) Tablets are a macrolide antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial infections including community-acquired pneumonia, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis/tonsillitis, skin and soft tissue infections, and uncomplicated genital chlamydial infections.
Ingredients
- Azithromycin 500 mg
Direction
Take as directed by a physician. The usual adult dose is 500 mg once daily for 3 days (for most respiratory and skin infections) or as prescribed. Take on an empty stomach or with food. Complete the full course.
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting
- or diarrhea
- Abdominal pain
- Headache
- QT prolongation (rare — especially at high doses)
- Allergic reactions including rash (rare)
Precautions
- Inform your doctor of all medications you are taking
- especially antacids or anticoagulants
- Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease
- Use with caution in patients with heart rhythm disorders (QT prolongation risk)
- Inform your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding
- Keep out of reach of children
- Complete the full prescribed course
