Asmozol-ES 40 40 mg

Indication

- Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive oesophagitis - Healing and prevention of relapse of reflux oesophagitis - Eradication of Helicobacter pylori (with antibiotics) - Zollinger-Ellison syndrome

Ingredients

• Esomeprazole 40 mg

Direction

Usual adult dose is one 40 mg tablet once daily, swallowed whole at least one hour before a meal, or as directed by a physician.

Side effects

• Headache
• Diarrhoea or constipation
• Abdominal pain and nausea
• Flatulence
• Dry mouth

Precautions

• Rule out malignancy before treatment if alarm symptoms are present
• Long
• term use may reduce magnesium levels and increase fracture risk
• Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration
• Use caution in severe liver impairment (max 20 mg daily)
