Indication

- Treatment of uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria - Treatment of other forms of malaria as part of combination therapy

Ingredients

• Artesunate 100 mg + Sulfadoxine 500 mg / Pyrimethamine 25 mg

Direction

Artesunate is usually given once daily for 3 days, while sulfadoxine/pyrimethamine is given as a single dose on the first day, according to body weight. Take exactly as directed by a physician.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting and abdominal pain
• Diarrhoea
• Dizziness and headache
• Skin rash (rarely severe reactions such as Stevens
• Johnson syndrome)
• Blood disorders with prolonged use

Precautions

• Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to sulfonamides
• Avoid in severe hepatic or renal impairment
• Not for malaria prophylaxis
• use only for treatment
• Use with caution in pregnancy
• particularly the first trimester
