Indication

- Hypertension - Chronic stable angina pectoris - Vasospastic (Prinzmetal's) angina

Ingredients

• Amlodipine 5 mg

Direction

Adults: usually 5 mg once daily, increased to a maximum of 10 mg once daily as needed. Take at the same time each day with or without food.

Side effects

• Peripheral oedema (ankle swelling)
• Headache
• Flushing
• Dizziness
• Palpitations and fatigue

Precautions

• Use with caution in severe hepatic impairment
• start at a lower dose
• Caution in severe aortic stenosis and in heart failure
• May cause symptomatic hypotension
• especially with other antihypertensives
• Monitor for worsening angina or myocardial infarction on dose initiation or increase
