Indication
- Hypertension (high blood pressure) - Reduction of stroke risk in hypertension with left ventricular hypertrophy - Protection of kidney function in type-2 diabetes with proteinuria
Ingredients
- Losartan potassium 50 mg
Direction
Usual starting and maintenance dose is 50 mg once daily; may be increased to 100 mg daily as directed by a physician.
Side effects
- Dizziness
- Fatigue
- Hyperkalemia
- Low blood pressure
Precautions
- Contraindicated in pregnancy
- Use with caution in renal impairment or volume depletion
- Monitor for hyperkalemia
- especially with potassium supplements
- May cause dizziness due to low blood pressure
