Indication
Empaglif 10 is used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Empagliflozin is a sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor.
Ingredients
- Empagliflozin 10 mg
Direction
Take as directed by a physician, usually 10 mg once daily taken orally with or without food. Dose may be increased to 25 mg once daily for additional glycemic control.
Side effects
- Urinary tract infections
- Genital mycotic infections
- Increased urination
- Hypoglycemia (when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas)
- Stop use and consult a physician if unusual reactions occur.
Precautions
- Prescription medicine — use only under medical supervision.
- Not for use in type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
- Monitor kidney function before and during treatment.
- Increased risk of urinary tract and genital infections.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are unsure about suitability.
