Indication
Cimetidine is an H2 receptor antagonist used to treat and prevent gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), esophagitis, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Ingredients
- Cimetidine 400 mg
Direction
For gastric and duodenal ulcer: 1 tablet at breakfast and 1 tablet at bedtime, or as directed by a physician. Treatment may last 4–8 weeks.
Side effects
- Headache
- dizziness
- Diarrhea
- Gynecomastia with long
- term use
- Confusion in elderly patients
- Stop use and consult a physician if unusual reactions occur.
Precautions
- Inform your physician of all medications you are taking as Cimetidine inhibits liver enzymes and has many drug interactions.
- Use with caution in elderly patients and those with renal impairment.
