Indication
- Nausea and vomiting - Bloating and flatulence - Epigastric fullness and discomfort - Slow gastric emptying (functional dyspepsia)
Ingredients
- Domperidone 5 mg + Simeticone 50 mg
Direction
Adults: usually 1 tablet 3 times daily, taken 15-30 minutes before meals. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
Side effects
- Dry mouth
- Headache
- Abdominal cramps
- Galactorrhea or breast tenderness (raised prolactin)
- QT prolongation/cardiac arrhythmia (rare)
Precautions
- Contraindicated in moderate/severe hepatic impairment and with QT
- prolonging drugs
- Caution in cardiac disease or electrolyte disturbances (risk of QT prolongation)
- Avoid in patients with GI hemorrhage or obstruction
- Use lowest effective dose
- generally not beyond 1 week without review
