Prosan HZ 50 mg / 12.5 mg

Indication

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults who are not adequately controlled on losartan or hydrochlorothiazide monotherapy. Reduction of risk of stroke in hypertensive patients with left ventricular hypertrophy.

Ingredients

• Losartan Potassium USP 50 mg
• Hydrochlorothiazide BP 12.5 mg

Direction

Adults: one tablet (50 mg/12.5 mg) once daily. If blood pressure is not adequately controlled, the dose may be increased to one tablet (100 mg/12.5 mg) once daily. Take with or without food.

Side effects

• Dizziness
• hypotension
• Hyperkalemia or hypokalemia
• Increased serum creatinine and uric acid
• Photosensitivity reactions

Precautions

• Contraindicated in pregnancy
• especially 2nd and 3rd trimester.
• Do not use in severe renal impairment (GFR <30 mL/min) or anuria.
• Do not use if allergic to sulfonamide
• derived drugs.
• Monitor blood pressure
• electrolytes
• and renal function regularly.
• Use with caution in patients with gout or diabetes.
• Prescription only.
