Prospan

Indication

Relief of cough with phlegm (productive cough). Used as an expectorant and mucolytic to loosen mucus secretions in acute and chronic inflammatory bronchial conditions.

Ingredients

• Dried Ivy Leaf Extract

Direction

Adults and children over 10 years: 5–7.5 mL three times daily. Children 6–10 years: 5 mL three times daily. Children 1–5 years: 2.5 mL three times daily. Shake well before use. Use the measuring cup provided. Do not use for more than 7 days without medical advice.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhea (rare)
• Allergic reactions such as urticaria
• rash (rare)
• Breathing difficulties in sensitive individuals (very rare)

Precautions

• Consult a doctor before use in patients with fructose intolerance or sorbitol malabsorption.
• Do not use if allergic to ivy (Hedera helix) or any other ingredient.
• Seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or do not improve after 7 days.
• Contains sorbitol
• patients with hereditary fructose intolerance should not take this medicine.
