Indication

- Hypertension (high blood pressure) - Edema (fluid retention) associated with heart failure, liver or kidney disease - Edema caused by corticosteroid or estrogen therapy

Ingredients

• Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg

Direction

Usually one tablet (25 mg) once daily, taken in the morning, or as directed by a physician. Swallow with water.

Side effects

• Dizziness
• lightheadedness on standing
• Low potassium causing weakness or muscle cramps
• Increased urination
• Elevated blood sugar and uric acid
• Photosensitivity

Precautions

• Monitor for electrolyte imbalance (low potassium
• sodium
• magnesium)
• Use with caution in diabetes
• gout
• kidney or liver impairment
• May cause dizziness
• avoid in pregnancy unless directed
• Can increase blood sugar and uric acid levels
