Indication

- Hypovolemia (low blood volume) - Hypoalbuminemia - Prevention of central volume depletion after paracentesis for cirrhotic ascites - Adjunct in cardiopulmonary bypass procedures - Neonatal hyperbilirubinemia (binding of free bilirubin)

Administered intravenously by a healthcare professional; dose and infusion rate individualized to the patient's condition and response.

Precautions

• Use with caution in conditions where added circulatory load or hemodilution may be a risk (e.g. heart failure
• severe anemia
• renal impairment)
• Monitor hemodynamics
• stop infusion if signs of fluid overload appear
• Made from human plasma and may carry a residual risk of transmitting infectious agents
• Do not use if solution is turbid or contains deposits
