Indication
Prevention of atherothrombotic events in patients with established peripheral arterial disease, recent myocardial infarction, or recent ischaemic stroke. Also used in combination with aspirin for acute coronary syndrome.
Ingredients
- Clopidogrel 75 mg
Direction
Adults: 75 mg once daily, taken orally with or without food. Continue as directed by the physician. Do not crush or break the tablet.
Side effects
- Bleeding (bruising
- nosebleed
- gastrointestinal bleeding)
- Haematoma
- Gastrointestinal discomfort
- diarrhoea
- Rash or skin reactions
- Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (rare)
Precautions
- Prescription only medication
- Do not use in patients with active pathological bleeding (peptic ulcer
- intracranial haemorrhage)
- Discontinue before elective surgery as advised by physician
- Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment
- Concomitant use with NSAIDs or anticoagulants increases bleeding risk
- Store below 30°C
- keep out of reach of children
