Plavix 75 mg

Indication

Prevention of atherothrombotic events in patients with established peripheral arterial disease, recent myocardial infarction, or recent ischaemic stroke. Also used in combination with aspirin for acute coronary syndrome.

Ingredients

• Clopidogrel 75 mg

Direction

Adults: 75 mg once daily, taken orally with or without food. Continue as directed by the physician. Do not crush or break the tablet.

Side effects

• Bleeding (bruising
• nosebleed
• gastrointestinal bleeding)
• Haematoma
• Gastrointestinal discomfort
• diarrhoea
• Rash or skin reactions
• Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (rare)

Precautions

• Prescription only medication
• Do not use in patients with active pathological bleeding (peptic ulcer
• intracranial haemorrhage)
• Discontinue before elective surgery as advised by physician
• Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment
• Concomitant use with NSAIDs or anticoagulants increases bleeding risk
• Store below 30°C
