Indication
- Relief of bronchospasm in asthma - Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) - Prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm - Reversible airway obstruction
Ingredients
- Salbutamol 2 mg
Direction
Usual adult oral dose is one 2-4 mg tablet three to four times daily; the pediatric dose is reduced according to age and weight. Take as directed by a physician.
Side effects
- Tremor (especially of the hands)
- Palpitations and tachycardia
- Headache
- Muscle cramps
- Nervousness or restlessness
Precautions
- Use with caution in hyperthyroidism
- diabetes and cardiovascular disease
- May cause hypokalaemia
- especially with high doses
- Caution in patients with arrhythmia or QT prolongation
- Seek medical advice if asthma control worsens
