Indication

- Relief of bronchospasm in asthma - Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) - Prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm - Reversible airway obstruction

Ingredients

• Salbutamol 2 mg

Direction

Usual adult oral dose is one 2-4 mg tablet three to four times daily; the pediatric dose is reduced according to age and weight. Take as directed by a physician.

Side effects

• Tremor (especially of the hands)
• Palpitations and tachycardia
• Headache
• Muscle cramps
• Nervousness or restlessness

Precautions

• Use with caution in hyperthyroidism
• diabetes and cardiovascular disease
• May cause hypokalaemia
• especially with high doses
• Caution in patients with arrhythmia or QT prolongation
• Seek medical advice if asthma control worsens
