Indication
Treatment of gout and hyperuricaemia. Prevention of uric acid and calcium oxalate renal stones. Prevention of hyperuricaemia associated with cancer chemotherapy.
Ingredients
- Allopurinol 200 mg
Direction
Take orally after meals with a full glass of water. Adults: 200–300 mg/day as directed by physician.
Side effects
- Skin rash (discontinue if severe)
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Headache
- Drowsiness
Precautions
- Discontinue immediately if skin rash develops
- Ensure adequate fluid intake during treatment
- Use with caution in patients with kidney or liver disease
- Do not take during an acute gout attack
- Keep out of reach of children
