Indication
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control when metformin alone is inadequate.
Ingredients
- Vildagliptin 50 mg
- Metformin HCl 1000 mg
Direction
Take as directed by your physician. Usual dose: one tablet twice daily with meals.
Side effects
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Hypoglycemia (when combined with sulphonylurea or insulin)
- Upper respiratory tract infection
- Nasopharyngitis
Precautions
- Not for use in patients with type 1 diabetes
- Monitor renal function before and during therapy
- Discontinue if lactic acidosis is suspected
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Keep out of reach of children
