Indication

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control when metformin alone is inadequate.

Ingredients

• Vildagliptin 50 mg
• Metformin HCl 1000 mg

Direction

Take as directed by your physician. Usual dose: one tablet twice daily with meals.

Side effects

• Nausea
• Diarrhea
• Vomiting
• Hypoglycemia (when combined with sulphonylurea or insulin)
• Upper respiratory tract infection
• Nasopharyngitis

Precautions

• Not for use in patients with type 1 diabetes
• Monitor renal function before and during therapy
• Discontinue if lactic acidosis is suspected
• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Keep out of reach of children
