Indication
Short-term relief of moderate to severe pain that is not relieved by paracetamol or other non-opioid analgesics alone, such as post-operative pain, dental pain, headache, muscular pain and dysmenorrhoea.
Ingredients
- Paracetamol 500 mg
- Codeine phosphate hemihydrate 30 mg
Direction
Adults: take 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours as needed, up to a maximum of 8 tablets in 24 hours. Take with water; may be taken with or without food. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time. Take only as directed by your physician.
Side effects
- Constipation
- Drowsiness
- dizziness
- Nausea
- vomiting
- Dry mouth
- Hypersensitivity or allergic reactions (rare)
- Respiratory depression at high doses
Precautions
- Prescription only medicine
- Do not use in children under 12 years
- Do not exceed the recommended dose
- Risk of dependence with prolonged use
- Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine
- Caution if driving or operating machinery (may cause drowsiness)
- Use with caution in the elderly and patients with hepatic
- renal or respiratory impairment
- Keep out of reach of children
