Indication

Famotidine is an H2-receptor antagonist that decreases gastric acid secretion. It is indicated for the treatment of duodenal ulcer, benign gastric ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and pathological hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
