Indication

Tetracycline-class antibiotic indicated for susceptible bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted infections, acne, and prophylaxis of malaria.

Side effects

• Gastrointestinal upset (nausea

• diarrhoea)
• Photosensitivity
• Esophagitis if taken with insufficient water
• Tooth discoloration in children under 12 years

Precautions

• Not recommended for infants and children below 12 years of age
• Take with full glass of water and remain upright for 30 minutes
• Avoid prolonged sun exposure
