Indication
- Treatment of acute bacterial diarrhoea - Colitis of bacterial origin - Symptomatic treatment of acute infectious gastroenteritis
Ingredients
- Nifuroxazide 200 mg
Direction
Adults: 200 mg taken orally every 6 hours (800 mg daily); take with adequate oral rehydration and continue as directed by a physician.
Side effects
- Nausea
- Abdominal pain
- Skin rash or allergic reactions (uncommon)
Precautions
- Maintain oral or intravenous rehydration during diarrhoea
- Not a substitute for rehydration in severe or prolonged diarrhoea
- Avoid alcohol during treatment
- Seek medical advice if diarrhoea persists beyond 3 days or with high fever or blood in stool
