Indication
- Prevention and treatment of vitamin C deficiency (scurvy) - Dietary supplementation - Support of immune function - Adjunct in conditions of increased vitamin C requirement
Ingredients
- Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) 1000 mg
Direction
Usually one tablet daily, or as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. Take with water, preferably after food.
Side effects
- Nausea or stomach upset
- Diarrhoea with high doses
- Heartburn
- Increased risk of kidney stones with prolonged high intake
Precautions
- Use with caution in people prone to kidney stones (oxalate)
- Caution in iron
- overload conditions (haemochromatosis) and G6PD deficiency
- High doses may interfere with some laboratory tests
- Do not exceed the recommended dose
