Loramide 2 mg

Indication

- Acute non-specific diarrhea - Traveler's diarrhea - Chronic diarrhea associated with inflammatory bowel disease - Reduction of ileostomy output

Ingredients

• Loperamide hydrochloride 2 mg

Direction

Adults: initially 4 mg, then 2 mg after each loose stool; do not exceed 8 mg/day for OTC use (16 mg/day under medical supervision).

Side effects

• Constipation
• Abdominal cramps or bloating
• Nausea
• Dizziness
• Dry mouth

Precautions

• Do not use in bloody or febrile (dysenteric) diarrhea
• Avoid in acute ulcerative colitis or bacterial enterocolitis
• Stop if no improvement within 48 hours
• Risk of serious cardiac events with overdose
